As residents of Truro, Captain Joe and I seasonally fish lobster traps located near the mouth of the Pamet Harbor. Lobstering has been a cultural identifier in New England for hundreds of years. We are proud of this tradition and enjoy sharing this unique heritage with our guests. It is a short boat ride to our Lobster Traps on the way back from the fishing grounds at Race Point.
Over the years, we’ve noticed how children of all ages seem to enjoy lobstering as much as fishing! You and your children can help pull and reset the traps, learn about Lobstering, distinguish between male and female, measure the lobsters for legal length, and finally band the lobster claws. You keep the catch!
We include lobstering as a part of our combination charter. We begin the trip as we would for a half day charter, angling for our famous Striped Bass. However, unlike our fishing only trip, we leave the last hour or so, for Lobstering. We’ve found that this trip is a perfect compromise for families with young children, whose attention span and patience is stretched during a 4 1/2 hour fishing only charter. We’re confident that families will find the combination charter to be one of the most memorable experiences of a Cape Cod vacation. Please choose the Fishing/Lobstering trip in the suite of charter options after clicking on the reserve button.
