We hadn’t seen a whale spout for the last month. Race Point has in the past been a terrific spot to watch the whale shows while fishing for Stripers. Those customers who usually go out with us in June and early July have been disappointed, and we have too. There is something magical about seeing those beasts up close, maybe a kindred spirit of sorts! Barbara and Bobbi had chartered the Nauset in the hope of catching fish. Bobbi’s son Matt, wife Samantha and children Lilly and Halle rounded out the fishers. And boy did we catch! Until sore arms and broad smiles could catch no more. Matt innocently suggested we look for whales. Capt Joe was locked into a distant whale watch boat and off we went. Wonderful day of fishing and whale watching with a great bunch of people.
